About Me
Me
Hello, my name is Edwin (no last name, don't want wierd ppl knowing
me), from Vancouver, Canada. I am 16
and am a student of high school. I like to make webpages when
I have nothing to do (this one's not for school). I also play
computer games, not a lot though, unless it's SimCity.
I like strategy and racing
games (at totally different ends of the gaming spectrum). Some of
my favorites are (from the earliest to most recent):
SC2000, Worms2, Starcraft, Carmageddon2,
Motocross Madness (to a lesser extent), Brood War, SC3000.
Me and SC3000
I discovered SimCity 2000 just late 1997, many years after it came out.
I found it to be a really addictive game, and soon after I heard that
there would be an SC3000. But of course it had to be delayed for over
a year, and soon after it was vaguely in my memory, as Starcraft was
out and I was busy playing that (and the expansion when it came out
December 1998). Then suddenly for some reason I decided to visit
www.simcity.com, and found out
that SC3000 had just been released a few days ago in the States. I
went to the store the next day and found it, and (of course) bought it.
I got hooked playing it the first day, and couldn't play for less than
2 hours at a time. I used the cheats to experiment, and was amazed at
the variety of buildings that popped up. I was also impressed with the
detail of the roads, highways, and bridges and how they more intelligently
connected themselves to one another. Then, I found out how you can load
in your own terrains from bitmaps, and spent many hours creating and
testing those out (never could understand why
Maxis never implemented this feature
as part of the game). The terrain was beautiful, with different varieties
of trees and with near smooth hills to jagged peaks of mountains. So,
anyway, I found it hard to concentrate on making this site.... but still
managed to do so between games :)
